Sports Carnival 2007

In conjunction with APIIT’s Sports Carnival, Chess Club is holding its Chess Competition on 12th May 2007. The venue for the competition is APIIT Smart School.

There will a charge of RM3 to participate.

MAPCU-IMU Inter-College / Varsity (Team) Chinese Chess Tournament 2007

Dear all,

Please be informed that the annual MAPCU –IMU Inter-College (Team) Chinese Chess tournament 2007 organized by the International Medical University (IMU) is back. The tournament details are as follow:

Date: 5th May 2007
Registration Time: 8.00am - 9.00am
Venue: Multi Purpose Hall 6
Attire: Smart Casual

ONE (1) team comprise of minimum THREE (3) players, regardless of gender. For each team, ONE (1) reserve is allowed. The scores of each team will be accumulated from Round 1 to Round 6 and the team with the highest overall score will emerge as the winner of the tournament.

The tournament will be based on Asian Chinese chess rules and will be played on a swiss format. For more information, please refer to www.clubxiangqi.com/rules/asiarule.htm. for further details

There will be SIX (6) rounds, and the time control is 30 Minutes for each player until finish.

ONE (1) team comprise of minimum FOUR (4) players, THREE (3) Male and ONE (1) Female. Each team must have a female player on the 4th Board in each round. For each team, 2 reserves are allowed, with ONE (1) Male and One (1) Female. The scores of each team will be accumulated from Round 1 to Round 6 and the team with the highest overall score will emerge as the winner of the tournament.

The tournament will be held based on FIDE laws of Chess and played on Swiss format. There will be SIX (6) rounds, and the time control is 30 Minutes for each player until finish.
